Senior Communications MAnager Opportunity with MDA Federal EarthSat Weather Services

 We are seeking a highly-motivated Senior Communications Manager who can work in a fast-paced, real-time, client-driven environment.  The Senior Communications Manager will provide and manage daily client communications for the Weather Services business unit through excellent on-time information for its Energy Weather, Basic Weather, Agricultural Products and Weather Data Products business areas.  A strong background in Meteorology is essential, as well as excellent written, verbal and presentation skills.

Essential Job Functions

• Provide constant accessibility and communication to customers to ensure operational excellence in all products and services created by the business unit including the timely, reliable and accurate delivery of all weather products.
• Provide highly credible consultations for clients to help facilitate new business and product development, improve existing products, and most importantly, ensure client retention.
• Write and edit daily editorial for the Weather and Energy Weather business units.
• Conduct presentations to both clients and various business entities.
• Study and interpret synoptic reports, maps, photographs, and prognostic charts to predict long and short range weather conditions.
• Operate computer graphic equipment to produce weather reports and maps for analysis, distribution to clients.
• Ensure the availability of resources for Weather Services staff to meet their objectives.
• Help to continually improve operational efficiencies, processes, products and services.

 

Required Qualifications

• Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate clearly and effectively to all levels of staff and clients and respond to common inquiries or complaints in a timely manner.
• Strong public speaking capabilities with the ability to effectively perform group presentations.
• Proficient writing and editorial skills.
• Bachelor's degree from four-year College or University in Meteorology or related field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Minimum of 3 years weather forecasting experience.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet client-driven deadlines.
• Ability to leverage creative thinking and innovative ideas to meet client needs and develop new products.
• Ability to exhibit balanced emotions, strong interpersonal skills and a professional appearance and demeanor at all times while managing competing demands.
• U.S. Citizenship is required.
• Eligibility for Security Clearance is required.

• Experience marketing and effectively communicating products and their attributes to clients.
